The Gym

The large gym at Cookridge Hall, offers a wide range of equipment across 2 floors, providing enough variation for the ultimate workout.

Our fully equipped gym is packed with lots of new equipment to give you the optimum workout.

Our cardio floor offers a large number of cross trainers, treadmills and bikes to enable you to hit your goals, whether it be getting fit, losing weight or toning up. The cardio floor also features a boxing area, battle ropes, stretching area, Kettlebells and Vipr. We also have new stretching areas with foam rollers so you can warm up effectively.

All of the cardio equipment on the upper floor of the gym was replaced in December 2012, with brand new equipment from Technogym. We have also replaced the flooring and change the layout of the lower gym to give a whole new look to the gym.

The cardio floor also has a boxing area, where you can box as part of your workout or join one of our Boxercise classes.

Battle ropes are a new addition to the cardio floor and provide a great body workout.

Our qualified staff are on hand to help you with the equipment and offer any advice on your workout.

VIPr and Kettlebells are also on offer on the cardio floor along with a number of mats so you can stretch out .

We have TVs and audio equipment in the cardio area so you can enjoy music or watch your favourite TV programme while you work out.

The lower floor of the gym provides a large number of resistance machines and a number of free weights and dumbells. We also have TRX resistance training, gym balls, kettlebells, medicine balls, free weights, boxes and much more on the lower floor of the gym.

You will also find our large studio on the lower floor, through the double doors and the spin studio.

Please note that the gym closes at:
10pm Monday – Friday
8pm on a Saturday and Sunday

The pool closes at:
10.30pm Monday – Thursday
10pm on a Friday and 8.30 on a Saturday and Sunday.

EQUIPMENT & WEIGHTS AREA

We have a large area on the lower floor of the gym with a wide range of weight machines, free weights as well as a good range of kettlebells, exercise balls,  a TRX suspension training system, boxes, bands and much more.

Kettlebell training gives you the benefit of serious cardio training without the boredom. It gives you strength and flexibility without long poses and is fun and varied, suitable for all ages, shapes and sizes. Kettle bell training combines cardio and strength training for busy people.

ViPR stands for Vitality, Performance and Reconditioning and is like the Swiss Army knife of exercise gadgets! It can be carried, dragged, rolled, thrown or stepped to provide the ultimate workout! It can be used for a whole body workout and can be more effective than a traditional weight training session.

TRX

Born in the Navy SEALs, Suspension Training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. The TRX Suspension Trainer is the original, best-in-class workout system that leverages gravity and your bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. You’re in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise – because you can simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance.

The TRX Suspension Trainer:

We have recently added some boxes to the lower floor to add some challenge to your workout, with a large step up to really work those legs!
We are always reviewing the equipment that we have and try to keep on top of the newest trends in training to ensure that we have the right equipment for the perfect workout.

On Track

Whether you have just joined the club or you feel you need a new direction in your training, we offer an On Track appointment as part of your membership.

The On Track appointment is designed to give you more confidence in the gym, set your goals and discuss what you enjoy doing with our fitness team. In turn you will be given a programme to follow and you can review your progress.

The On track appointment gives you the opportunity to meet the fitness team.

Our trainers are approachable and are here to support you in this journey!

You will have the opportunity to go through your medical conditions, limitations, diet history, exercise habits and lifestyle.

  • Establish you short and long term goals
  • Go through a suitable programme with a trainer, including foam rolling, stretching and mobility exercises
  • Review your programme and your progress

PERSONAL TRAINING
