Shepherd leads the flock in Under 14 Shield
On a lovely day and with the course in excellent condition good scoring was the order of the day in the Under 14 shield.
There was a log jam on 37 points with Adel Watt, Amelia Smith, Nathan Ali and James Trant all scoring well. Jonny Shepherd, however,plahying off the yellow tees for the first time came in with a tremendous score of 42 points and reduced his handicap from 36 to 32 in one round.
After a tremendous back nine of 20 points Nathan Ali came second on countback in the competition he won last year.
In the 9 hole competition all competitors played better than their handicap and will be off lower handicaps next time. The winner being Alife Storer with a great round of 27 points.
Scoring was also extremely good in the Over 14 section with James Underwood winning with 42 points being closely pushed by Jeehvan Singh with 40 points.
