Junior Ryder Cup
After 5 years of trying Europe was finally successful in winning the Cookridge Hall Ryder Cup.
In the fourballs of day 1 Europe took a 4 – 2 lead thanks to excellent wins for Jeehvan Singh and Luke Whitaker, Adel Watt and Amelia Smith, and Alfie Storer and Ben Watson. A good win for Saul Guilford and Sam Norman kept the United States in the hunt.
On Day 2 in the singles Europe once again started strongly with Adel Watt, Luke Whitaker and Jonny Shepherd coming in with excellent wins. The United States hit back with great wins for Saul Guilford and Harry Green. The 9 hole competition, however, came out decisively in Europe’s favour with wins for Alfie Storer, Matty Carroll and Jeevan Notey.
The final score of 10 – 4 was a clear indication of victory for Europe.
More importantly a great time was had by all.
