Amelia Smith played some fantastic golf in winning the Junior Captain’s Trophy by four shots. She follows in the foot steps of Adel Watt, last year’s winner, to make it two year’s in a row that girls have won the most difficult Junior competition of the year.
36 holes of medal in one day is a tough ask for any juniors but Luke Whitaker last year’s Junior captain had two excellent rounds of 69 and 71 and set the early pace. 13 year old Amelia, however, completed her morning round of 71 with no score higher than 7 on her card. In the afternoon she bettered that with a fantastic round of 65 with scores no higher than a six on her card In difficult conditions.
Great playing and a major handicap pull to come.
