Rain, Rain & More Rain

Rain, Rain & More Rain

Greenkeeping Woes……….

Believe it or not, Jason and the team took advantage of some drier weather earlier in the week to treat the greens with iron. This will improve and encourage consistent growth throughout the winter. As we have all witnessed before, the greens will now be slightly discoloured for approximately a week which is normal after applying this treatment.

As the week progressed so did the so called ‘Weather Bomb’ as we now know it! High winds and heavy rain have blessed us over the last few days resulting in regular clean up operations as trees shed their leaves and branches fell like Leeds Utd!! Needless to say having arrived to work the last few days the lads have worked their magic and have done so all week. Those who attended the recent AGM will be aware of proposed works on the golf course this coming winter including teeing grounds, continued drainage work and pathways.

As we look forward to another golfing season I am sure you will all join me in commending Jason, Simon, Paul, Dan, Daryll & Martyn your greens team, for the terrific work they have done this year.
